I have a modest collection... set of 10 CA plates.  I want to create a set, but I need money to do that!

Nice site, Alex... prices definitely look better than Ebay's.

I have 12 up on my wall.  Three original NJ's (black on tan), four second-gen (white on blue), two modern (yellow fade).  I traded two duplicates out of those for a pair of NC plates, red and green commercials from 2001 and 2002.  (I threw away a blue and a yellow due to horrible condition.)  The last one on my wall is an Oregon that I found on the side of the street.  It appears to have rusted off a trailer but other than the bolt holes is in good enough shape.  It's blue or black on gold.  I enjoy it but I'd rather purchase signs.

I purchased three at the Canton, TX First Monday flea market for $12 last weekend. They include current KS, MO, and red-dye NC issues.

Never spent a dime.  Most of the NJs are from my grandmother's garage.  When you give back plates you're allowed to keep one, since this is a two-plate state.  Well, besides the fact that she kept both from her first car, she had a bunch of others lying around.  The only one I'm not sure of the vintage is an old tan commercial plate.  It's at least twice as thick/heavy as the other plates, which may have been the style for commercials.  (I made sure it wasn't two stuck together, that's how big it is.)

Not much into license plates....too many memories of using them to pick up doggy dip on hot summer afternoons...

i might want a plate if i can ever find one specific style from OH, but it is a rather specific and short-lived plate, and i dont think, easy to find at all....

I do collect them now and again. Would love to find two copies of the Florida's original Challenger plate.

One of the runs I am trying to complete is a Florida county collection. What I have currently is posted at https://www.aaroads.com/license_plates/florida.htm. (https://www.aaroads.com/license_plates/florida.htm.) Some of the lesser populated counties (Gulf, Calhoun, Franklin, etc.) are harder to find, but I'm always looking.

This is a "shot in the dark," but you never know.  I had 1956 Michigan license plate, but it disappeared from my parents house sometime after I moved away.  If anyone sees this plate, registration CW-6437, I would love 2 get it back.  Thank you. :coffee:

They probably threw it away. Parents do that a lot.

One thing I didn't mention in my initial post was the plate was displayed on a basement wall along with some other plates, and the one missing was the only one missing. :coffee:

I have a NJ tag from 1956 on my wall. It is black and orange I think.    I also have Indiana tags from 1956-2003 from my wifes grandfather.  And assorted Florida tags, mostly from Duval County.
I have a 1937 NJ road map and there is a box that shows codes for counties used on licence plates.  I never knew that NJ did this.  Anyone have info, I have to find the map and scan it

I have a decent number of plates. The oldest is a 1920's Nebraska. The newest is a 2010 Texas that I found on the side of the road.

I collect.  I'll have to post some pictures of my collection once I get my man cave complete!

I finally got approval from my wife to convert the garage into a man cave.  Plates and highway shields, with a few beer signs and some old aviation posters are going to adorn the walls.

My biggest decision is what to put on tap.  I'm a Coors Light fan myself.  Good crowd pleaser and cheap.

If anybody happens to have one....
I'm in the market for a license plate from Coahuila, Mexico - green letters on white background, no additional graphics.
I think this would be circa 1990s.

I remember being fascinated about other car's location based on it's license plates starting as a teenager in the 1970's.  I have always kept to myself though.  I always though that new york and california had best color combinations.  I also wondered why some states on had one license plate on back of car, and some other states had license plate on front and back.  Seems like one plate states were originally only in the southeast, and then found that states in other regions  moved from two to one, like pennsylvania, michigan, indiana, and arizona.  I have memorized witch ones have two and which ones have only one.  I theorized that originally all states required two.  Does anyone know if that is true or not?

I have personal leftovers from VA, the plain VA XXX-123, a mountain one XXX-1234.  A plain XXX-1234.  I have cursive CA plate 5XXX123.  I used to have 2 LA plates from 1980's a TX from 1977 XXX-123 and NC from 1975, which was last plate before they started using renewal stickers but all those are now gone.

The best plates ever are the Northwest Territories/Nunavut.

Come on, it's a freaking POLAR BEAR. Definitely wanting to get one of these for my new car.

I don't see an NJ in there - if you have a duplicate from another state I'd be happy to trade. Wonder how much postage costs.

(Slight edit: I would be offering the older white on blue plate, not the newest goldenrod style, if it matters.)

Probably only a couple dollars parcel post. You can probably do priority mail for fairly cheap, too; I think a license plate would fit in one of the flat rate boxes.
