Title: A quick East County I-8 signage change note
Post by: ARMOURERERIC on August 02, 2015, 01:08:34 AM
It is reported in this quarters Jacumba Hot Springs news that a county grant has been approved to change the relatively new I-8, exit 74 Jacumba signage to the new town name "Jacumba Hot Springs" the part I found interesting is that the mew signage will include a brown recreational signage strip indicating that it is also the exit for "Historic US 80 business loop" and in a future grant application, yet to be submitted, the same brown section will be part of an upgraded Exit 61 Crestwood Drive exit signage.  Jucumba has a very interesting but sad history post interstate, but it has had alot of upgrades to public space there in the last 4 years.

Thanks Eric for sharing. I'd wondered when that sign change would happen. So the "business loop" for Historic US 80 is intended to connect to I-8 at Exit 73, Carrizo Gorge Road and at Exit 61, Crestwood Drive? I'm surprised the western end isn't at Exit 77, In-Ko-Pah Park Road and Old Highway 80.
