Title: NJT variable signs
Post by: MrDisco99 on December 03, 2015, 02:54:43 PM
Is there a comprehensive list of the variable BGSes on the Turnpike and what their options are?

The Turnpike in general is slowly migrating to hybrid signs where the top panel will be fixed and it will have flip elements, possibly also with VMS (depends on location). Given how long the rollout is, there's no sense in trying to compile a list right now, because everything that's out there will change. This includes mainline (splits), ramps, and service areas.
You may want to comb through the old Standard Drawings - I believe the NJTA website (turnpike.state.nj.us) keeps track of the superseded ones. Head for the SI- and start pawing. There may be messages for the ramp signs there, I think.

what about those variable ones at the beginning of the Eastern and Western spur split and the ones at the end of the Turnpike by I-80, those going to digital screens also like the car and truck lane ones?

turnpike.state.nj.us brings up "Can't reach this page", at least for me.

www.state.nj.us/turnpike otoh brings up the site for me.

The Turnpike website is a bit finicky sometimes.

Here's the standard drawings that are an example of some of the messages.  I'm not aware of anything that shows all the messages.
