I have been noticing that nowadays with the borders that you can get for your rear tag on your car, it can be often hard to identify an out of state car's homestate due to the frame covering the state name. Of course, with cops paying little attention anymore to moving violations these days, no one issues the citations that should be given out to these motorists who carelessly install these plate border enhancements.
Now I saw a motorist who had his plate covered by a boom for a wheelchair or motor scooter carry on feature. What is the sense of having tags now, if every time an invention is made to allow for an accessory to be carried on the back of the vehicle or for other purposes?
Of course, this is not about my rant, as the answer to that is obvious, but I was wondering if you have any feedback about keeping our roads safe as this which is not being able to identify another person's tag is a big concern. As there are over 50 states, with Candian Provinces, and Mexican States that use our roads in any state, that one may be a person to commit a hit and run accident with you not being able to get an accurate plate description due to a car dealer add on the plate or someone showing their team spirit with a sports venue ad on it.

Here in Orlando, I know quite a few people who have gotten fix it tickets on that. Infact, just a few weeks ago, I got pulled over and given a warning as my dealer frame covered the bottom few millimeters of the county name....
wait a sec, aren't you in Orlando? they seem very concerned about it here because of the toll cameras and red light cameras

...and my MIL was cited for it, although it was a State Trooper exercising discretion and not whacking her for speeding.
