Like the macho superman I am, I've finished posting 60 Roads Scholarin' photos from November's trip to North Carolina. Since I have just about zero energy remaining, this may be the last fact-finding mission for some time.
So peep these photos now before they opt to peep you...

Wytheville is the control city for 77 North at Mt. Airy because that's where it meets I-81.

Also, it's probably left over from the days when I-77 and I-81 weren't completed to the east Wytheville and drivers had to use US-11 between the finished sections. That project didn't wrap up until the late '80s.

But it isn't a major city. I would think Charleston WV might be a good control city.
Wow! Rich Square, NC ... I used to have family there!

They like using the city at the junction of 2 interstates. That's why Lake City FL is a control city, 75 and 10 meet near there
Man Bandit you were at most a mile away from me at work when you took this picture from the Neuse River Bridge (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F2lakcht.jpg&hash=c7f1f9bd5658125dedea042c5b0f447660fce219)
My office would be just to the right of the first radio tower with the red aircraft lights, directly behind the blacked out spot caused by Union Point Park in this picture. And you couldn't even drop in and say HI to a brother, lol.
