The Iowa bound bridge has a buckled deck.
I'm just counting down the years until they get working on the new bridge.
5 years to go, last I heard...

Another Ralph Modjeski bridge down. He seemed to love having the truss above the roadway on suspension spans, pony trusses.
I don't recall, is the buckled span the 1930s one, or the 1950s one ?

It's the 30s one.
Looks like the buckling was caused by a loose expansion joint. http://wqad.com/2016/01/13/drivers-tires-flattened-by-sharp-metal-plate-on-busy-i-74-bridge/

Is it just me or do 9/10 of the bridges maintained in or by Iowa have problems? The state really seemed to go into "Oh, shit!" mode after the I-35W collapse.
