Title: Good road photos for backgrounds
Post by: TravelingBethelite on May 05, 2016, 08:38:44 PM
Have you taken any? Have any, otherwise? A lot of shots make for great backgrounds, like this one:

Took this in July 2008. The Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, looking south to Cheticamp.

Took this one in September 2015. It is, of course, the Moki Dugway.

Here are some from my Flickr that I just uploaded that I think could qualify...

Vine Street Expressway (I-676/US 30) looking east toward the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia:

Closer view of the Ben Franklin Bridge, this time from the intersection of Race and 2nd Streets:

And here are two views from the same overpass (Don Mills Road) over Highway 401 near Toronto. First photo is looking east, and the second looking west...

Yeah I got a decent one last year at the right angle when I stopped in.  The only issue was making sure cars weren't coming to which there is actually a surprisingly large amount during non-winter months in southern Utah.  It's actually one of my favorite pictures of myself, now if only I could replicate it with my Challenger (cough Vanishing Point) it would be all the cooler.

That's the one that begins at the terminus of UT 279 below Dead Horse Point and ends up near the national park visitor center.  I would have loved to give that road a try heading up the canyon but ever time I've been out there I always had a car.

I don't have too many criteria for road-related backgrounds, except that it's decently easy to still read my icon captions and that I'm actually the one who took the picture.

If this weren't the slightest bit fuzzy, it would be perfect! I was taking this picture of the GW Bridge while on a Peter Pan bus. We were on the Henry Hudson Parkway/West Side Highway for whatever reason, back on April 15, 2015.

I think this one I took of the "7 Mile Stretch" on US 30 in Somerset County, PA would be a good one...

I feel that this one, also on US 30 (near McConnellsburg, PA), would make a good background photo...

Have you taken any? Have any, otherwise? A lot of shots make for great backgrounds, like this one:

(first picture from thread, snipped out)

The first picture in this thread--where was it taken? I ask because it looks familiar...

Lots of great pics in this thread!
