There isn't a massive need for this, but maybe we could add a note under a person's name that identifies them as the original poster. We already have the flags for Admin, DOT employee, etc. so maybe we could add it there. Since I started my little forum game, it might help people to recognize me as the guy who set up the game in the first place. The flag would probably just say "Original Poster." Just a suggestion!
Sorry, but this isn't possible.

That would be harder to do, than it is worth

Probably right
One forum I visited recently added it. Honestly, it's not really necessary, and in a way detracts from a conversation.
If it's a simple q&a thread, it does highlight who asked the question. But on a multi-page thread, the OP is kinda irrelevant by the same we hit page 2.
On the thread selection screen it shows who started the thread already.
And where it does matter in the terms of conversation, i.e. as OP you ask a question and then you see that the responses don't really address your point, you can then say "I'm the OP and what I really want are examples of X, not examples of Y." So we don't really need the forum to do that automatically - especially if it is technically difficult to do that.
If one really needs to see who the OP is, it's not hard to click on the first page of a given thread...

Such is also listed in the Thread Index/Listings.
