Title: For fun...make some traffic signals like found in Greensboro in Inkscape
Post by: OracleUsr on June 22, 2016, 06:42:37 AM
I am thinking of recreating different types of traffic signals in Inkscape, with the intent eventually of making simulated ones (it's just a hobby, so I know they won't be great, just for fun).  How do you guys draw traffic signals with different color/type lamps (8"/12" right, left green arrow, red, yellow, green circles in 8/12")?  Is there a manual on how to do it in Inkscape?  I can play around with .NET to do the sequencing, but I'm not sure where to start with the actual images, and the stock ones I found on the net are decent, but i'd rather do my own.

This topic would be better in the "Road Related Illustrations" sub-board.

There are a number of forum members who make and post their own images in that area (mostly of signs, but some do traffic signals as well) using a variety of programs. The avid creators are usually willing to share info on how they go about creating their images.

Oh, okay, was thinking this was better suited for Traffic Control.  Okay, I'll post there.
