This is good news if you drive on Highway 80 in the Bay Area.
It's always seemed to me that a lot of the backups through Berkeley are caused by the lane shifting being done before the Macarthur Maze, and it then snowballs behind it. When traffic volumes are lower, you can see it: people just randomly jumping into other lanes. And, to be fair, the signage is confusing and has never seemed to give appropriate warning. Maybe I'm alone on that, but that's just what I've observed.
