OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) has a new commercial which seems to be playing a lot. It references the "Double Rainbow" video, and it's so ridiculous, but it makes me laugh :)
This is best version I could find on Youtube:
This one is a jewelry store owner in Toronto. His ads are famous around here :-D
Are there any ads that you think are funny, or are just ridiculously stupid? For me these often overlap :)
Any Geico Commercial.
I found this newspaper ad for a Remax (real estate) agent and just
had to post it! Is this supposed to make me want to her hire her as my agent? :-D
(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F461YdMp.jpg&hash=b81bb4ba3dad837ea40ff0237c9f4c8e4793cf7b)
I'll also add the Fallsview Casino commercials as one of my favourite ad campaigns. I think this one could be the best of the bunch :)
"Frog protection":
Frog.
Fraud.
FroG.
FrauD.
I think we're on the same page.
I BURST OUT LAUGHING when I first saw the ending to this commercial where the Gulf logo rotates and zooms away...

This Kroger commercial that has the Kroger logo spinning around on a table is equally ridiculous...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqDlT8gXk9g
Almost any commercial for bubble gum was ridiculous. I remember a commersh for Care-Free bubble gum in the mid-'80s where a woman says, "Hey, I avoid sugar. But sometimes I want..."
Meaningful pause...
"BUBBLE GUM!!!!!"
It was ridiculous. Absolutely roll-on-the-floor absurd. You had to be alive in the '80s to appreciate it.

Also, there's this old commercial for Big Boy...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j8OmGlbN14
Around here, it's Frisch's Big Boy, but it was otherwise the same jingle.
After this ad came out, we made fun of it - not just once, but for years and years and years. We've been poking fun at it for well over 30 years. It all started when we ran out of water and I said "There's no wa" to the tune of "Food so good" in that ad. The thing we do now is take a song title and use it in place of the words to the jingle. For instance, when the Eddie Money song "Walk On Water" came out, we sang, "Walk on water...is what you have to do to get to the bathrooms at Frisch's Big Boy...because the toilets overflow!"
Another one has to do with a Wings song from the '70s: "Listen to what the man said...listen to what the man from the health department said about eating at Frisch's Big Boy...because it's life-saving advice!"
All Old Spice Body Wash commercials.

I think so.
More ridiculous commercials:
Any commercial for chewing gum that primarily extols the ability to blow bubbles of a specific color.
A commercial for Phillips Petroleum in the early '80s in which a woman thanked Phillips for preventing her face from falling off.

One word, or rather three: BUD-weis-er! Still the funniest beer commercial ever made.
Maybe not "funny" per se, but the Crest 3D toothpaste and Crest Whitestrips commercials always have people with great looking teeth complaining that they're teeth are yellow. It seems so ridiculous to me!
I guess they want people to think "if they think they're teeth are yellow, then my teeth are definitely yellow" :-D
I can't believe I forgot this one! Acorn Stairlifts :) (I think this is a local commercial, so most of you probably won't know it). I'm watching Jeopardy, and they play it
every commercial break during the show!
First of all, the lifts look so damn slow! I know they're retired, but give me break. :-D
I also love how they all smile while riding the lift.
Some of the quotes, like "I'm the king of my own castle"
But best of all, the lift simply stops when it bumps into the toy on the stairs. What are they supposed to do when this happens? Are they trapped, will they never get down the stairs again? Lol

Is Kia still playing that ad with the cute hamsters?
I was watching a Michigan TV channel yesterday and saw this Farmers Insurance commercial which made me laugh. I know it's a dumb commercial that uses the cuteness of dogs to get your attention, but it worked for me :-D

Grippo's has a couple of really stupid radio ads. Too bad I like their BBQ chips...
Commercial #1 (loosely quoted):
Guy: Whatchya grillin' there Bill?
Bill: My own invention: barbecue snack rings
Guy: I hate to burst your bubble there Bill, but Grippo's HAS barbecue snack rings
Bill: But they don't have my secret ingredient. Okay, here goes...
*EXPLOSION*
Guy: Dude! Look at your eyebrows!
Announcer: Sales pitch, followed by "Keep your eyebrows!"
<Grippo's jingle>
Commercial #2 (loosely quoted):
Girl: The Melchers invited us to their party...again
Guy: Here's what we'll do: you create a distraction and I'll replace their boring chips & pretzels with Grippo's
Girl: Can't we just come clean and tell them their chips & pretzels are lame, while Grippo's are fun?
Announcer: <Sales pitch>...and don't forget about Grippo's sour cream and nacho cheese dips!
Guy: Did he just call me a cheese dip?
<Grippo's jingle>
The mattress company Sleepys just changed their clever name to a very lame one, and has been announcing the change in a series of car cards on the Boston transit system that read "Sleepys is now Mattress Firm".
Sleepys was perhaps best known for their tag line/jingle "Sleepys - For The Rest Of Your Life", which was heavily used in print and media ads until after a fatal crash on Boston's Green Line in May of 2008 - a Sleepy's ad with the tag line was prominently visible in media footage of the wrecked trains. Ironically, the NTBS investigation of the crash found that the probable cause was the operator of the second train, who died in the crash, missing two critical signals while suffering apparent episodes of microsleep - both the NTSB and the MBTA's investigations determined that the operator had undiagnosed sleep apnea.

That's a reason rates are going up. (http://www.insurancebusinessmag.com/us/news/breaking-news/auto-insurers-blasted-for-inflating-rates-with-astronomic-advertising-budgets-22961.aspx)
Quote
In general, insurance companies spend so much, they outstrip every other American industry by nearly 8%... According to 2013 SNL Financial report, GEICO spends about $6 of every $100 it collects in premiums on advertising, totaling $1.2 billion annually. Allstate increased its budget last year by 5.7% to reach $900 million, and State Farm pushed its spending up 5.1% to $800 million.
If you're 30, the average annual premium is about $2,000 (source (https://www.valuepenguin.com/how-age-affects-auto-insurance-costs)); so you not only have to watch all those ads if you watch TV, but you're also paying $120/year for the privilege.

The Kia ad with Melissa McCarthy "saving" whales & rhinos was kind of cute the first time it ran during the Super Bowl, but the truncated version that runs several times nightly a month later has gotten a bit tiresome. The lady is funny, given the right material -- but the ad, on 70th (approximate) viewing, is a tad cliched (besides, rhinos aren't that big!). Pure slapstick -- doesn't play to her strength as a sarcastic observer.
How about, the type of over the top local car dealership ads that this video is parodying (language warning)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sZuN0xXWLc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b49dfTUFFZQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BEJrPyFx_E
(the last 10 seconds of that last video are particularly amusing)
Now this is the breadwinner:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql7uY36-LwA
All of these are absolutely crazy. :-D
I'm pretty sure every commercial in the '80s had panning shots. I find this funny because...well honestly current commercials don't have panning shots.
Now that's a real blast from the past! Forgot about that Robert Palmer Pepsi ad (and how much "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irresistible" sounded almost alike!). Interesting how some of the products -- particularly "Aspen" soda and the flavored milk ("fill in color/flavor COW") never really caught on. It seems to be as if they're attempting to portray life as incomplete absent the presence of their particular beverage -- sometimes it worked, and more often not. Remember "New Coke" -- the change that almost capsized the Coca-Cola company circa '83!

New Coke was intended to be a failure. It was a smokescreen to hide the fact that Coke changed the formula from mostly sugar/partially HFCS ("original" COKE) to almost 100% HFCS (CocaCola Classic). Yes, I know that Coke executives, spokespeople, Snopes and others continue to try to deny and debunk this. However, as a cola drinker, I could tell the difference in taste immediately. And they are all promoting false information about the change to HFCS being unrelated to New Coke.

This was obvious to me at the time. CocaCola Classic is not the same as original Coke.
I am back with some more crazy commercials. These videos I'm posting are not the raw commercials themselves, but they are videos of the rising YouTuber Chadtronic reacting to them. I chose these videos, because they compress all these funny commercials into only a few videos. Here you go:

Busch Beer has a semi-retro ad running now. It makes use of the old BUSCHHHHHHH sound made when someone opens a can except that now the sound is BUSCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... The guy who opened the can tries putting his hand over the opening a couple of times to muffle the sound out there in the wilderness. It is a bit amusing.

It's funny because healthy teeth aren't a perfect, pristine white, they're usually yellow-ish, white-ish.
There is a current ad for a dating site (Live Links) that starts off with a male barista in a coffee shop reciting an order a cute girl usually gets. She is shocked and impressed that he knows what she always gets. He claims he has a good memory.
Nothing wrong so far....
At the end of the commercial, she's walking out with her coffee when he says, "Have fun at your yoga class tonight!", and she blushes.

Highly obnoxious ads encouraging you to donate to a charity that doesn't bother to tell you anything that charity does in their ad. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I went to the local websites that rank charities based on what percentage of monies raised actually goes to the cause, and what percentage of monies raised goes to administrative expenses. Kars for Kids isn't listed on either site - that should be a HUGE red flag for anyone wishing to contribute.
^^ I have read that Kars 4 Kids is a Jewish firm Oorah which provides orthodox Jewish education.

There was a 30-minute late-night infomercial in the mid-'80s that went WAAAAY beyond stupid, into hallucinogenic: Santo Gold.
The deal was, you'd call in your credit card number and they'd send you a big ol' box of gold-plated costume jewelry – each piece with a gift box and a certificate of authenticity – which you could sell at flea markets or give as "gifts" to your "friends" .
The first part of the infomercial was a somewhat monotonous sales pitch for the jewelry, explaining why 24kt micro-thin plating is so much better than solid 14 kt gold, and how the big ol' box will be packed by trained professionals, and so on.
But then at the 17-minute mark (starts at 3:25 of the following clip; lasting about 4½ minutes) the program suddenly becomes one of the the most bizarre things ever shown on television:
https://youtu.be/0mm7MmOo8LM
Remember, that was a sales pitch for jewelry.
