Just curious as to what alternate numberd route out there is the longest in length? I would also say that suffixed routes are also included in the count. You could also advise by banner type as well, i.e., longest BUSINESS route, longest suffixed route, etc.
US 90A (Alternate) in Texas is 175 miles.
IIRC before the Hoover dam bypass opened to traffic there was a Truck US 93 that was far longer than all other truck routes. While most, if not all, truck routes don't go further than 10 miles, this one was around 100 miles long.

There is still a US 64 TRUCK in western NC that is about 80 miles long
Looks like we have a few long Alternate and Truck routes; I wonder what would be the longest Business route. Business routes are never very long since they only exist to serve the cores of towns that get bypassed by the main route. In some states they aren't even state-maintained but are locally-maintained instead.
Wasn't/isn't there an Alternate US 93 or 95 in Nevada that is pretty lengthy?
Has to be FL A1A. Almost 339 miles.

Correct!
Alternate US 95 (which serves to connect US 95 coming up from Vegas with I-80 heading out towards Reno) is 107 miles long from Schurz to near Toulon Lake, including a 38-mile concurrency with I-80. (US 95 only takes 71 miles between the those two points)

The Lyman-Fort Bridger Wyoming loop is the longest I can think of, but that's only 15.5 miles. Surely there's a longer one.

Even though it isn't full freeway the entire length, would that qualify as the business route (of any kind) with the longest combined freeway segments? (7.4 miles in Lexington, 9.3 miles from Urban Street in Thomasville to Durand Avenue in High Point and 15.6 miles from River Road in Jamestown to I-840/I-85 (including the brief hidden section along I-85 and the concurrency with I-40))
Denver's Business I-70 seems to be the longest business Interstate route that is entirely surface road.
MA 1A is 95 miles
MA 3A is 97 miles
What is the length of US 31E & US 31W? They are split from Nashville, TN to Louisville, KY. Interesting side note is that both cities are actually consolidated governments.
US 27 alternate from Williston to Perry in FL is about 96 miles. 68 of them are concurrent with US 19 & 98, but nonetheless a straight through alternate.
Even though it's not really an official bannered route, I've always considered FL A1A as sort of a US 1 ALT in Florida. Kinda special for some reason in my opinion...
ALT I-39 has some pretty long sections in both Illinois and Wisconsin, but there's some inconsistencies with signage or large gaps where no signage exists.
The only long route I know personally is IL-251

103? Here it says it is only 97 miles long (unless it crosses into another state). Anyway, better have it as Alt US 14 instead of its former number US 420, as it would fall victim to thieves (the same reason why US 491 exists).

MA 3A is 97 miles
MA 2A has those beat at 98 miles. Like 1A & 3A; the listed mileages
includes concurrencies with its parent route.
Since the OP is looking for actual
signed routes; IMHO,
one should not include the parent concurrencies whether they're silent or not. There are 2 maybe 3
signed concurrencies (usually on relatively short segments) with their parent routes but the rest are silent/unsigned.
That said:
MA 1A itself is just over 65 miles w/4 segments,
MA 2A is just over 81 miles w/3 segments,
and MA 3A is just under 76 miles w/2 segments.
Side bar: if one were to
include its parent eastern & western concurrencies, MA 20A would be the longest in the Bay State at just over 154 miles. However and in the real world, MA 20A itself is only about 4 miles.

Hm. Although perhaps technically concurrent, I'm pretty sure the concurrency with MA 2 between Greenfield and Orange is not signed accordingly, if at all.

I was editing my earlier post when you replied. See my above-edit showing the mileages

I had forgotten about US 41A. It does run concurrently in Nashville, TN wtih US 41. It is signed in at least one place in Nashville with the concurrency. I believe someone posted that the route logs to also mention that it is offically concurrent as well.
It runs from Monteagle, TN to Hopkinsville, KY.

Correct. Whenever WyDOT places a sign like this, they normally place it in a pullout, and often they place it perpendicular to the road which only allows those who use the pullout to read the sign.
I quite like that sign.

Arguably, it's not really an alternate route, just a distinctive route...to prevent confusion of "US 1", so the easternmost SR 1 could take the right place within Florida's road grid. If we just want to say "suffixed route", then I suppose it wins.
(A1A itself has no banners, unless you include "Alternate A1A" which has been a segment of FL 811 for decades.)
Business 20 in Rockford and Belvidere is like 21 miles long. Probably not the longest but most likely one of the longer business routes.

Important to note that this was signed (at least in Nevada) as "Truck Detour" US 93. It was never an officially recognized truck route by AASHTO or other organizations. It was always meant as a temporary truck-only detour, created out of necessity due to security measures implemented at Hoover Dam after 9/11. It hasn't existed since the Hoover Dam Bypass project was completed. So this one doesn't really count, despite the fact that it was around for 10-ish years.
