Shanghai has also recently renumbered it's provincial expressways. They now have an "A" prefix.

I wonder though, if those expressways won't face significant congestion (if not already) in the future. Shanghai has a metropolitan area of nearly 20 million, and though the network looks impressive, they're mostly 6 to 8-laned, and if they get as much cars as say Los Angeles or even New York City, the network won't do, just like Tokyo, where all expressways are 4 to 6-laned.
