Title: Ridge Route in Southern California - online petition
Post by: sdmichael on November 27, 2016, 12:47:59 PM
Hello all,

The Ridge Route in Southern California needs your help. The Ridge Route Preservation Organization has put together an online petition to help get the roadway back open and in working order. It has not been fully open to traffic since 2005 and is in need of your support. Please sign this petition to get the legislators and the Angeles National Forest to fix what they did wrong. More details are on the site for the petition.

Thank you for your time and efforts!

I'll sign myself once I get to a desktop computer, always enjoyed the Old Ridge Route.

Edit:  Signed....looks like the petition is close to making the 200 signatures.  Really the Old Ridge Route really needs help, the road is terrible shape and not in driving condition anymore.  South of N2 you might make it awhile before most vehicles would have a really hard time making it over the landslides or ground up asphalt.  All the view point markers are washed out from the sun and basically things are pretty dire straights.  If I had my way I would like to see the old road repaired with patching along the concrete slabs that are broken up.  I wouldn't have an issue with gravel being used, just so long as the road is put back to a condition in can be traversed reasonably by a car.  I had a recent trip to the Old Ridge Route and Ridge Route Alternate just a couple weeks back...everything is on Reply 138:

At least Ridge Route Alternate is still in good shape....
