some are road-oriented, such as a few redevelopments of Times Square

haven't spotted any old signs yet, but I'm not yet done looking!
I saw some of these, they're really neat.
I was rewatching a video that was sent to me years ago by a reader of the website that showcased some northeastern freeways in the late 80s or early 90s. Some of the video in NYC featured modern style guide signs with green or black lettering on white background for the exit. These were taken along the Grand Central Parkway.
green lettering on white background? interesting!
Looked like standard guide signs, just in reverse colours. I'd dvd'ize the video, but it takes too long to do that...
freeze it on your TV and take a picture, just for the general idea

oy vey, I'm going to have way too little fun doing freeze-frame-and-screen-capture on this.

This is the guy who made me that video I mentioned above! I have not corresponded with him for years and lost his email. Thanks for posting that!
can you by any chance contact him? I have no idea how but I would love to see the still images from which he compiled that video!
Those dark blue with white lettered signs are original Thruway signs from the 1950s and 1960s. I remember them when I was growing up. Brings back a lot of memories.
