I was at the Bob Bullock museum in Austin and found a great book by Carol Dawson "Miles & Miles of Texas: 100 Years of the Texas Highway Department". I am cheap so instead of spending $40 on it I got if from the library but I think y'all would enjoy it.
I have a copy of "Texas Highways" -
Golden Anniversary Texas Highway Department 1917-1967 that Justin gave me several years back. It has a number of photos showing signs, DOT buildings, and other infrastructure.

SWEET!
Could the book be found on Amazon, if any of the rest of us can't make it down to Texas?
