Title: What is/was the Boone Trail Highway?
Post by: CanesFan27 on November 14, 2009, 10:36:12 PM
A few weekends ago I took some photos in Hillsborough, NC - and came across a unique historical marker that included a tablet for the Boone Trail Highway.  I dug a little deeper in finding information about the highway - and learned that this was an Auto-Trail era route promoting 'Good Roads' by a man from Mocksville, NC named Joseph Hampton Rich.

Unlike other Auto-Trail era routes, there are a number of remaining markers left throughout the country.

Does anyone else know more about the Boone Trail Highway in their neck of the woods?
