As if there weren't enough obstacles on that road.

LOL! Not the only time I have seen turkey on the road. I've seen some along the Palisades Interstate Parkway in both NJ and NY and I have seen a whole lot along the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut.
Yeah, LOL.
Actually, there are plenty of turkeys on the NJ Turnpike (and pretty much any highway). The only difference is that this one is not driving a car! ;D
Turkeys are no problem, drive over birds and you get a bunch of feathers fly in the air. The big problem are things like deer. Over here there's a campaign to reduce the number of deer collisions. On this website (http://www.thedeerinitiative.co.uk/html/rta.htm) the animated banner has deer wearing something that makes them stand out ;D
We passed a dead turkey walking on the alignment of decommissioned Sussex CR 615 (Ennis Road)
they're everywhere - I just saw a small herd a few weeks ago on a trip to Colorado.
I hear the Kentucky variety is especially drinkable.
Gives new meaning to the phrase "Roadkill for dinner"! :D
