Hello!
I am csw, a current Purdue CE student and lifelong map and infrastructure junkie. I am particularly fascinated with counting counties and road signage, especially in my home state of Indiana. This forum seems like the place for me, I'm excited to get started!

It's in his signature.
Welcome! I think this forum is definitely the place for you. I'm from Will County, one of your yellow counties; I see you also traveled to the Adirondacks, which I love. I also get into collecting route signage-- this is my Indiana collection so far, if you are interested https://www.flickr.com/photos/138603251@N02/albums/72157669661614025
I notice you have one of my favorite state roads - IN-262! A fun and challenging drive.
Welcome from Kitchener, Ontario!
Yet more new people sign in! Welcome from PA!
Welcome from one Indiana-based CE student to another! I'm a Valpo guy.
Welcome from Alabama!
Not sure where to ask this, but I have a silly question...what's the best way to take shield photos? Do y'all pull over and stop to take a picture or just do it while driving?
Both are done...preference depends on the individual, though stopping eliminates the potential issues of windshield bugs and dashboard glare. Downside of stopping is that, especially when taking a lot of photos, the overall trip takes much longer and it kills your gas mileage a bit.
Hello from damp springtime Connecticut!
Greetings from Dalton, Georgia!!!
It looks like you have hit my neck of the woods back in 2013. I hope you enjoyed the area.

I sort of follow a hybrid of froggie's suggestion. I'll typically look for a shield that has a good view behind it and make that a featured subject, and the rest just take from behind the windshield.
Welcome from humid Winnipeg!
I see your from a state making history with I-69 slowly being extended to Evansville which will give you the chance to see what happened in the 60's and 70's with the rest of the interstate system now.
Anyway welcome to the room.
Welcome from the dysfunctional state just to your west.
Hello and welcome from 'The Natural State' of Arkansas!

Sorry I'm slow to checking this section, but welcome! I just visited my 92nd Indiana county in August.
