First Major Sports team in Vegas is at play here.
Leaving aside and not getting into any political discussions about media bias in that area, no thinking person will argue that, when it comes to sports, every media corporation is 100% biased in favor of what sports it has right to. From ESPN down to your local 1kW daytime AM.
Yes, there are some things "to big to ingnore" like the NFL or the NCAA Final Four, but, day in and day out, what you see on SportsCenter, what you see argued in their line of talking head shows, what you see featured on their websites, is what ESPN has the rights to. Substitute "Fox" "CBS" "NBC" "Turner" or whatever as appropriate.
Could this be a precursor to what will happen when the Raiders arrive? I'm sure we have every reason to believe so.
If you're a sports radio station, and you ignore the local sports teams, your ratings will go down, your advertisers would have no reason to advertise, and the entire format will sink.
This seems to be more of a pissed off radio exec who went on a tirade that he shouldn't have written.
Radio stations throughout the Vegas area will be talking about the local teams once they start playing, regardless of their format. For a sports station to ignore a sports team would be industry suicide.
