A lot of older TCT signals in Philadelphia tend to have sunfaded paint, sometimes even chipping. Even the backplates are sunfaded. Anyone else have seen signals with faded or chipped paint. Here are examples, I shot all these photos myself, you can also view them on my flickr page;(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180116/532c8fb39cb0d32c3e989e7f09692bb4.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180116/0856749f38bb6e2cbd9974857ecfd7bc.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180116/8fc84bef024612f655bbe761b10d5812.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180116/a2fce4c149d14c6ccb7033100b095235.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180116/907cac68a869526d309a6de98503f7ca.jpg)

Those all look really good, but a very important piece of advice:
I would try to fix all those pictures very quickly (before people hound you for it), because while it's not just one picture, it's all very cluttered up, and it might be violating forum guidelines in terms of width and height and just about everything else. :wow: :-D

Oh okay. I was about to say, what to do you have to do to make it look as crazy as that. :-D
Now about the signals with faded paint, down the road you see a set of old eagle signals, and the paint looks completly fine. Keep in mind, the eagles are significantly older than the TCT signals (By roughly fifteen to twenty years) Weird, I heard it has to do with the quality of the signals themselves. I heard that earlier signals are more durable. Crouse-Hinds Type R signals tend to look better than a lot of older TCTs, and the Crouse-Hinds heads are the ones that came first.
This is way too common a thing to start listing the instances of its existence.

Ohh okay, after you edited your post, I know what you meant now.
For some reason it does that to me as well when I use Tapatalk, whenever I try to say the word itself (tapatalk), it turns into whatever the heck that was (in the first quote). I have absolutely no idea why. :eyebrow: :hmmm:

That is a fair point. This stuff probably exists all over the place, and it's probably not actually that uncommon.

Agreed. There's a never-ending supply in the rust-belt states.
in Sherwood, Signals are fine except for the pedestrian signal at Hopkins elementary school. Signs on the other hand, well I won't get further off topic.
