Title: Delta Rhythm & Bayous Highway
Post by: US71 on February 22, 2018, 03:02:33 PM
ARDOT has designated US 65 from Pine Bluff to the Louisiana State Line as the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Highway. Appears to ave happened back in August, but I just read about it in the latest Arkansas Highways magazine.  It's intended to honor music legends from southern Arkansas, but will also exploited used to promote economic development.

The original proposal can be found  here  (http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2017/2017R/Acts/Act451.pdf)

There is also a Facebook page  (https://www.facebook.com/deltarhythmnbayousalliance/) for the Delta Rhythm 'N' Bayous Alliance who pushed for the byway designation.

I think all sections of highways should be designated as a memorial for someone/thing.

And there is a huge list of everything named after the honorable Robert C. Byrd (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_places_named_after_Robert_Byrd).
