Title: MoDOT Acknowledges Failure
Post by: US71 on April 01, 2018, 02:25:32 PM
I stumbled across this old MoDOT  Press Release  (http://www.modot.org/kansascity/newrelease/District4Release.shtml?action=displaySSI&newsId=183890) from a few years back and thought it might be of some interest.

Oh deer!
Deer Crossing education for deer! What a deering initiative to prevent deer related accidence within the state.

I bet after they failed, they looked like a deer in the headlights!

*No deers were harmed nor educated in the writing of this post!

Start at 0:17. Yes, it's comedy, but the amount of people who probably think deer are actually supposed to cross at those signs (and only those signs) is pretty alarming. I'm sure this PR flew over more than a few heads.

I was hoping someone would have posted those videos above. I have heard them before & thought of these when this thread started.

I once saw a sign on US 60 in Howell County, MO (I believe) that proclaimed: "MoDOT Sucks!"

I did that section of US-60 in 2012 and actually saw a few identical signs like that, separated by several miles. I figured it was local landowners collectively protesting...something MoDOT did, but I don't know what.
