Concerning TX 31 bridge at Trinadad: Long ago they were trying to make the Trinity River a navigable waterway. The higher bridge was probably built during that time, and the lower one was probably built after the project was cancelled. The LOOP 12 frwy bridges in W Dallas are high for this reason. There are abandoned locks on the river in S Dallas
