Title: Emergency landing on NJ Turnpike
Post by: rawmustard on February 01, 2010, 08:42:34 AM
A single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100201/ap_on_re_us/us_emergency_landing) in Cherry Hill during this morning's rush. Amazingly no injuries have been reported. The plane was under hire to provide traffic reports for KYW-AM and KYW-TV.

This was on the traffic reports this morning. Amazing that nobody was hurt.

Probably because the plane was not in an urgent situation, just one where it was much wiser to land than risk an emergency.  So I'm sure there was enough time to scramble the police and get a stretch of roadway cleared.

Quote"For the first time in 8 years, I can probably say you had a good reason to stop and look," Orlando said.
I wish I was one of the ones that got to see it!

These made me LOL:
Quote"The plane landed, he taxied it over into the shoulder. We can't even get motorists to do that when they break down."

QuoteNo word on what the toll was.
