Most people would never have gotten that one for two reasons:
1. I've never heard the phrase "twelve point buck" before, and I assume the same is true for most people.
2. The font you used is larger than normal. For most purposes (although not on this forum), 12 is the default font size.

I have. Buck as in male deer, with twelve points on its antlers.
The problem is that "twelve point buck" isn't a common phrase used in reference to something, like "couch potato" or "super bowl". There's nothing special, or particularly well known, about a buck with twelve points as opposed to three, or ten, or any other number.
Also, I'm only counting seven points, so I must be counting wrong, or overthinking it.

Wasn't rebus solving the final part of the puzzle solving in some TV game show? I want to say that it was Concentration.. They remind me of British style cryptic crosswords, but they fry my brain less. Ghost tail is alright. It's better than the one that I can come up right now spur off the moment with a bee and a sneeze (bee's knees.)

I never noticed that before. I think that The Simpsons had a rewatchability quotient that was high because there was often something you didn't notice until you saw the episode multiple times. The same goes for ZAZ.

Back to Airplane!, it also took me many viewings to notice that Rex Kramer's vicious attack dog was a golden retriever.
When I was in the Army, I served with a couple of guys from Seattle who drank Brown Derby. That beer had rebuses under the bottlecaps.

And even that was half-joke, half-compromise with the studio. ZAZ wanted the movie set on a prop plane, the studio wanted it on a jet, so they went with a jet that makes propeller noises.
