I spotted it on another forum, a vintage movie of Detroit from 1954

That was fantastic, I loved seeing the old cars and marquees. Too bad the city has declined so much since then...

Is that a U.S. 112 cutout at 0:29?

Three more cutouts spotted at 0:51.

Yes, indeed, and it was likely US 10 and US 25 joing US 112.
