The next road in the 2016 Summer Mountain Trip series was US 191 over Flaming Gorge Dam. I thought it was interesting to see that road development in the area was relatively new and largely coincided with Flaming Gorge Dam being built in the mid-20th century. Northeast Utah has some pretty unique looking terrain that breaks up the standard "red rock" fair of the Colorado Plateau region.
