Title: Cottonwood River Sanborn, MN
Post by: US71 on January 03, 2019, 01:08:07 PM
According to bridgehunter.com, there is a concrete bridge over the  Cottonwood River  (https://bridgehunter.com/mn/redwood/main-street/) south of Sanborn, MN.

My question for the Minnesota experts (since I'm nowhere close) is was this an old alignment of Hwy 71? Looks like it could be, but I have no historic maps to check it with.

Prior to 1938, yes this was part of US 71.  The old alignment of US 71 continued south via 475th Ave to CSAH 11, where it returned east to the current alignment.
