Title: Diverging Diamond Interchange Coming to Western New York
Post by: Dougtone on February 20, 2010, 07:03:22 AM
New York State's first diverging diamond interchange is coming to the Rochester area, Interstate 590 at Winton Road to be exact.  Construction is set to begin in March 2011 with a completion date in 2012.

I added a blurb about it on our Interstate 590 (https://www.aaroads.com/northeast/i-590_ny.html) pages on Northeast Roads @ AARoads.

I remember when the state was saying it would be started last summer.  Hope it isn't delayed again.

There are two existing interchanges in the Atlanta area that are being studied for diverging diamond retrofits.  I see this configuration becoming the biggest thing in interchanges since the SUPI.
