Probably the most interesting surface routes I encountered on my recent Bay Area trips were CA 112, CA 61 and CA 260 which serve as a functionally signed (for the most part) CA 61. CA 112 is odd given it seems to be signed eastbound but also has one reassurance sign indicating as part of CA 61. CA 61 is hardly built to the full scale it was planned to but somehow hasn't had any relinquished portions over the years. CA 260 was the original north terminus of CA 61 in downtown Oakland but now has a maintenance gap in Alameda in Webster Street. CA 61 is signed with two end points; one at Central and Webster in Oakland which is the real terminus and a second on Harrison Street in Oakland which is actually CA 260.

Drove all of eastbound 112 last night on the way back from Oakland International Airport:
- from Doolittle Drive southbound, the left turn to Davis is marked as "Route 61 South - Downtown"
- The overhead signage for "EAST Route 112" alongside the overhead for the I-880 north/south onramps is still there.
Nothing else too remarkable about the Davis route other than that (as noted in the Route 77 thread) at East 14th, Route 185 is identified as the intersecting route off of 112 east.

That 61 sign on Doolittle is weird to me, especially when CA 112 signage is just down the block on Davis. I'm surprised to hear that there is actual 185 surface signage at all.
Actually, that 185 sign might be on..Davis approaching 185 from the east! I'd need to go back in the area and see if it is signed from 112 really, but here is the trailblazer I remember from last night, next to the original Lucky supermarket site:

I suspect there may be more shields along the side streets connecting to CA 185. There definitely seems to be a push to get the rest of the highway off the books along with a big emphasis on not signing on the actual route.
