Title: US 395 on former CA 95
Post by: Max Rockatansky on May 22, 2019, 08:38:59 PM
Ended up driving US 395 south of Kramer Junction on my way to Cajon Pass this past weekend.  Normally I'd go out of my way to avoid this stretch due to the long truck back ups and infamous Safety Corridor that are present in the area.  I did note a new passing zone is under construction immediately south of Kramer Junction which is infinitely over due to be built.  Really this whole stretch badly needs and expressway upgrade.  Interestingly US 395 south of Kramer Junction to I-15 has essentially had little change since it was signed over CA 95 on LRN 145.

US 395 signage was still present on the then-called Escondido Freeway from what was Edgemont all the way to San Diego when I drove it in 1974.  Truncated or not, the signs were still there along with TEMP I-215 signs.  Last of the glory days!
