Title: R.I.P. Dr. John, aka Malcolm John Rebennack Jr.
Post by: Hot Rod Hootenanny on June 06, 2019, 11:25:54 PM
Dr. John passed away this morning, at age 77, from a heart attack, though he had, more-or-less, retired from performing back in 2017.

I'm sure some Dr. John fans/purists won't look back fondly on him doing the theme to Blossom back in the day, but it was the first Dr. John song I remember hearing.

Yeah in my opinionation, the sun is gonna surely shine....

His unique voice and approach will definitely be missed.  Cheers, Dr. John!

An absolute New Orleans institution. You cannot mistake his voice for anyone else. I will binge listen to his music this weekend. RIP Dr. John.
