Title: Hutto/Taylor Corridor, US-79 Bypass
Post by: thisdj78 on August 21, 2019, 08:05:22 AM
I was driving around Hutto yesterday and noticed the rather wide ROW for Chandler road between 130 toll and SH95. It looks wide enough for a grade separated highway:

I couldn't find anything on this specific corridor, only plans for a highway between Chandler and US79 but looks like they may have killed it in favor of the proposed Southeast Loop:

Chandler road is gift from TxDot. Lets stressful to drive than 29 to the north with its constant curves.

Yeah, I needed to drive and clear some Not Ready codes on my car for inspection and that stretch of road did the trick.

They could even extend it east/southeast to the intersection of 79/4th street east of Taylor and it would make a nice bypass for the area.
