Hi folks, someone emailed me with a sign that she found while going through the belongings of her parents-in-law, which she is trying to identify and I've never seen.

Also, it looks pretty small:

We are caring for the estate of my husband's parents who have passed away. The sign was found with his belongings. Maybe pre-1925? He was air force, so I thought it might be from one of his duty stations. He was also stationed in Germany so, maybe it's from a base there.

Given the shape and font, it's probably not pre-1925, but other than that, this sign really puzzles me. Any ideas?
Thanks,
- Jim
With the decorative elements, I'm thinking it's a house number sign printed on a miniature US shield. It seems like it would be much too small to be an effective road sign.
I sent a picture of it to Jake Bear, but he never answered. I honestly don't even know if he has the same phone number anymore. My last message from him had been in Decmber 2017.

^^^ Bingo. We have a winner. I remember a couple of people in my childhood neighborhood that I delivered papers to had these on their houses.
