Now we can go to Blanc-Sablon on road.....by a long detour via Manic-5, Fermont, Labrador City, Churchill Falls and Goose Bay  ;-)

The article said:
QuoteThe final section is not yet ready for vehicle traffic.

Hedderson said some final work has to be done on that portion of the highway, but he said it would open to the public soon.

As that was written on 12/9 or 12/10, has it actually opened to traffic since then?

This looks like a fun trip.  Do-able in a standard car?  Gasoline and food available?

I recently did the trip in a Corolla and finding Gas, Food and Lodging.....no problem.

Crucially, you can also gas up in Churchill Falls and Port Hope Simpson.  Even with the gas station in PHS, it's 410km without gas stations or other services from Goose Bay.  Also, the Churchill Falls gas station breaks up what otherwise would be a huge service-free gap between Goose Bay and Labrador City.

Gas is also available to some extent in other communities on or near the TLH, like Mary's Harbour and Charlottetown, though with limited and sometimes quirky hours (like, lotsa luck trying to gas up at either gas station in Charlottetown during lunch hour!).
