Seems like a lifetime ago I used to watch that show.

It wasn't until the second season that he hit the lady in the opening/

I used to imitate his commercials where he put the battery on his shoulder because I thought it was cool.

He was also the French-Canadian fur trapper Pasquinel in the miniseries Centennial.

Johnny Carson used this as one of his skits, but instead of somebody knocking off the battery, there would be pies thrown in his face.
