I'm wondering what route number would have the best aesthetic appearance on a sign. What do you think?
I'm also considering getting an SD route shield. 10, 20, 37, 42, and 45 are up for consideration out of those.
EDIT: Only I-29 and I-90 are being considered now, because I decided I want a 2di instead of a 3di. I almost completely guaruntee that I-90 will be the outcome of the poll, but If you consider my reason for why I think I-29 would look decent perhaps the poll will be more of a close fight.
Also poll expires 11:59 on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 because I forgot to add an expiration date.
State name shield or no? None of SD's 4 interstates are uniquely numbered unfortunately.
You could try for a green I-229 Business shield, which AFAIK would be the second-highest business Interstate number in the U.S.

I was planning on doing the state name, yes.

Huh, never thought about business shields. I'll look into that. :-P Also, I'm pretty sure 229 would actually be the 5th. Don't quote me on that though.
Thanks for the input guys!

I'd personally get I-90. It's the longest Interstate in the country, the busiest in and most important to SD, and shows the east/west change through the state well.

Business Spur I-385 used to be signed FWIW
But you aren't going to find that on GSV. 2003 pic:

Don't know why you wouldn't get I-90 unless you live in Watertown or something along I-29

I actually do live closer to I-29 than I do I-90
The only reason I am considering I-29 is because I like how it looks on the sign. Imo, it looks aesthetically better on a sign because it's not so much of a commonly used number as 90 is, it's more unique. You might hear someone say, "Oh what did you score on the test?" And they might reply, "About 90%. I don't remember." However, it is less likely that when buying an amount of material for something someone would inquire you to buy exactly 29 feet rather than 30, because 30 is just a more common number to have lengths with. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy. That's just my reasoning here. The reason I asked is I'm REALLY more or less trying to decide whether to get a 3DI or 2DI. :-P
However, I really thank you guys for your input! :)
EDIT: I also decided that I-29 would somewhat be cooler because I'm thinking about how it runs through Sioux Falls. I-90 has a mere
4 (I think) actually 5 exits for Sioux Falls, along with 6 lanes, which if you didn't know the city existed and you were driving cross-country on I-90 one day you would be mislead to think that Sioux Falls was a much smaller city. However, the way I-29 runs through, 8 lanes width even occurs at some points and it has 9 Sioux Falls interchanges (10 counting Tea since SD-100 will use that exit). As a result, my dim-witted-as-far-as-infrastructure-goes friends who come over would recognize it a little easier since we live in Northeast SD, furthest from I-90 and closest I-29. And most of my friends usually make relatively frequent trips to Sioux Falls to see family. IDK, that's what I'm thinking.
