Here is a survey where highways in Hawaii needed safer roads.

"While online, guests can complete a webmap survey to pin-point the exact location of hotspots on the island where traffic collisions occur and opportunities for infrastructure or design improvements can be considered."
Once I saw that line, I knew this would be nothing but allowing the public to feel involved. A motorist will go by certain spots very rarely. Even if they go thru an intersection 4 times a day, they are there for 4 minutes at the most.
On the other hand, the police have accident and crash reports that are in a database to show exactly where accidents are occurring. Public works people can easily see where congestion forms, how long queues last, etc. So a meeting like this may be good for the information they provide, but the information they request is just a feel-good measure that will be ignored.
