Title: largest number of hwys in a muliplex
Post by: zachary_amaryllis on August 14, 2020, 01:28:29 PM
if this has been addressed somewhere, please post a link...

whats the largest number of highways you've seen on a single piece of pavement.. i don't get out much, so the biggest i can recall having seen is approaching the GWB in new jersey - I-80/95, US 1/9/46 and SH 4.

It's been discussed before, but not recently.

Most number of highways sharing the same multiplex (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=1668.msg37801#msg37801)
largest mutliplex (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=7188.msg161150#msg161150)

It appears the largest number of signed routes sharing pavement is seven.

There is always the Indy Beltway, since INDOT puts all routes other than 65/70 on 465

A short section of roadway in E St Louis is signed with 6 shields: I-55, I-64, US 40, IL 3, Great River Road, and To I-70 EB/To I-44 WB shields. Neither 44 nor 70 are on this segment, but 70 used to be, but both are signed with "To"  on the BGSs

However, none of the routes on it are signed (except for I-74)

Unless these have been taken down, some are sporadically signed (crediting billburmaster.com)

From GSV, it does appear the US 40 and US 52 Reassurance Shields are gone at MM 46 SB

Not sure where exactly where the IN SR 37 Shield picture is/was located, other than somewhere on the South side on the Outer Beltway

The one with the IN 37 shield is gone too, I drive that way every day and have not seen that sign in years. It actually dates back to when SR 37 followed a much shorter multiplex with I-465 that went from Exit 4 to Exit 2 before continuing north with US 31 along East St.
