What is the furthest skyline view you know of that is clearly visible from Street View?
Rochester, NY, and Buffalo, NY both have some pretty crazy ones... TIL that Buffalo's skyline is visible from here, on NY 77 (https://www.google.com/maps/@42.8515463,-78.3973281,3a,51.4y,326.26h,90.53t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sWEf1IH7tpy5cZrH0rLLyLQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!5m1!1e1?hl=en), although you can't zoom in far enough to make it out. That's 25 miles as the crow flies. For Rochester, you can see the skyline here (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Scenic+Overlook/@42.7208841,-77.528892,12.29z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89d113a820ef4e4b:0x3e07ba782bd0e26c!8m2!3d42.6924649!4d-77.5159478!5m1!1e1?hl=en), 32.3 miles away! although there's no Street View.
This (https://www.google.com/maps/@43.3198709,-78.8188027,3a,15y,308.49h,90.59t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sW8psezL-mWibnGWV1VM8dw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) is the farthest I could find in 15 minutes of looking. You can just barely make out some buildings, 35 miles from Toronto.
Street View uses wide angle lenses, so it's going to be harder to spot no matter how good the view is to the human eye, let alone a telephoto lens.
The New York City skyline is visible from Hanover Ave in Randolph Twp, NJ (https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8328935,-74.5150291,3a,90y,115.34h,78.62t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sf6Q6hx4fUN2nI2U7NYoZvA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!5m1!1e1?hl=en), a distance of just over 27 miles (36 by road), though it doesn't show super well on street view. It's also visible at several points along that ridge through central Morris County, but the views are best on clear Winter days when there isn't foliage to obscure the views. It's also very clearly visible from the Monmouth County coast along Sandy Hook Bay (https://www.google.com/maps/@40.4108901,-74.0103833,3a,15y,4.97h,89.41t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sQmFTnuH5acdHLyWM7X0uSw!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DQmFTnuH5acdHLyWM7X0uSw%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D1.0699961%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192!5m1!1e1?hl=en), a distance of about 20 miles, but over 50 miles by road due to the geography of New York Harbor.
Not sure if this is the furthest view but I'll look at some other GSV vantage points to see.
This is looking EB on Ford Road (M-153) at the interchange with the Southfield Freeway (M-39) with Downtown Detroit on the horizon.

Also in person you can see Detroit's skyline from the hill at Stony Creek Metro Park about 26 miles from Downtown Detroit. You can also see Downtown Detroit in person from Metro Beach at the end of 16 Mile Road which is about 20 miles from Downtown Detroit.
Stony Creek is due north of Downtown Detroit with nothing in the way of the view from the top of the hill.

That's a good one, and I'll have to pay attention next time I'm up NY 18, because I'm sure it's much clearer than that in real life on a clear day... but I think it's a bit of a stretch to call it visible from Street View. The average person browsing definitely wouldn't identify it.

I've been to Indiana Dunes and the view there is pretty nice. This wouldn't be on GSV since there isn't anything close to the lake shore but I've seen Downtown Chicago's skyline from Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan before.

In order to view the Chicago skyline from Warren Dunes it has to be a very clear day with no clouds or anything in the sky in the way or else you won't see it. You can make out the Sears Tower and John Hancock Center faintly but you can tell it's those two buildings because of the antennas. The day I did it was back in 2012 it was 98 degrees outside and I was on my way to Chicago so I stopped at Warren Dunes to take a dip in Lake Michigan and could make out the two buildings I mentioned and thought that was pretty cool.

You absolutely can see the Boston skyline from Monadnock. I've seen it myself, and a google image search turns up tons of pictures.
It's also only ~62 miles, not over 80.
It's also not visible
in Street View.
Charleston doesn't really have any very distant views of the skyline more than 7-10 miles out.
You can see the Ravenel Bridge from the Folly Beach County Park, 11.5 miles away on a clear day, even though it isn't visible on Street View.

Also the Limehouse Bridge on Johns Island, 11 miles away, you can clearly see the Ravenel Bridge from there along with some of the downtown skyline.

You can make out Houston's skyline behind the chemical plants from the Fred Hartman Bridge in Baytown, give or take 22 miles away. Mighty impressive considering Houston has no hills.

I've seen the Chicago skyline from I-57 in Kankakee. It looks to be about 45 miles or so. You can see the Toronto skyline across Lake Ontario crossing The Welland Canal in St. Catherines. On the exit ramp from 355 South to 55 North. Zoom in and to the right of 55, you can see the Sears Tower at the right (refuse to call it anything but), Hancock on the left and Trump Tower (my obligatory middle finger to that) in the middle clearly.

Nah, Stone Mountain is only 14-15 miles east of downtown Atlanta by straight-line distance.
Kennesaw Mountain (https://goo.gl/maps/Xq9D8LC262W4UkCA9) is a bit farther at about 19 miles, and there are a few more hills a bit farther out from which you can probably see the downtown skyline.
Not really a street view, but I have seen the Sears Tower from Illinois Beach State Park... that's about 40-45 miles as a crow flies (I tried looking for Milwaukee as well, since it's about midway in between, but I couldn't spot it unfortunately). Also, a spot I remember seeing it as a kid was from the I-80/US45(LaGrange Rd) interchange when crossing over I-80. I don't know if development over there has changed that, but that's gotta be a good 25 or so miles. Also, not a street view again, but Swallow Cliff Woods has a really cool view of the Sears Tower on the trail.
Here's an interesting one: TWO skylines are visible from Somerset Boulevard SE (https://goo.gl/maps/szSoWmrFPFhor6sP6), Seattle (~8 miles) and Bellevue (~4 miles).
Not much of a skyline, but there is a spot on I-40 east coming into Asheville NC, at the top of a grade where the Biltmore House is very prominent off in the distance. I would have to drive the route again to note the exact spot, but its somewhere between MM 30-40.

From Colt Road in Rancho Palos Verdes, you can see Downtown LA in Google Maps. Distance is 20 miles.
From Ridge Park Road in Newport Beach, you can just barely make out the outline of Downtown LA. Distance is 39 miles.
From westbound US-50 between El Dorado Hills and Folsom, you can see Sacramento at a distance of about 25 miles. I seem to recall that a similar view is also available on I-80 from around Loomis.
Not necessarily a whole skyline, but Springfield MO's tallest building (the Hammons Tower) can be see from Highlandville, MO on US 160/MO 13, a distance of 18 1/4 miles.

I think Three Mile Hill is arguably the best distant view of Pittsburgh because you can see more of the buildings than just US Steel and BNY Mellon. Here is a photo I took of that same viewpoint. You can make out the tips of One PPG Place, One Oxford Centre, Gulf Tower, and the Trimont Tower on Mt. Washington.

You can't see them on Street View but I saw a photo on another forum that confirms this.

You can also see it from Fair Haven further north.
