How many state tripoints are there in the US? Asking because I want to know if anyone knows before I count.
Also, how many have you visited and do you have any photos?

62. Last time I looked at the Wikipedia article it didn't have the total. So, yeah, tell me about your tripoint adventures.
None of Indiana's 4 tripoints can be reached by road.
The IL/IN/MI tripoint is out in Lake Michigan.
The IL/IN/KY tripoint is at the confluence of the Wabash and Ohio Rivers. Closest road appears to be Raben Road in far SW Posey County
The OH/IN/KY tripoint is in the Ohio River. I-275 passes close to the point.
The OH/IN/MI tripoint is the only one on land, but there is no road. Closest road is Mellon Rd, which crosses the IN/MI border several hundred feet to the west of the tripoint.

I actually just visited the PA/MD/DE tripoint last month. I will need to download photos off my phone and add them here. The old post mentioned that this point was on private land...sometime after that post, enough land was purchased by the Commonwealth of PA that there is a 1.5 mile hiking trail (and a relatively easy one) to reach the marker. There are lots in PA and DE to reach the trail.
Also along the trail is the Arc Corner Monument...marking where the arc portion of the DE/PA border ends and heads west for about a mile before meeting the tri-point with MD.
I'm not sure if the NY-NJ-PA tripoint marker is actually at the tripoint or not, but I've sat on the monument before and had my picture taken. It was a stop on a road meet tour several years ago.
I have only been to one. Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. There is a monument in a tree. I don't think I have the picture anymore. I went to visit it after driving the newly, at the time, opened extension of Interstate 49. Come to find out the monument is in the wrong place. A few feet, but it's wrong. LA-1 transitions to TX-77 there. I am disappointed there isn't an Arkansas State Highway intersecting near there just for fun.
I guess I've come within several feet of the WV-VA-MD tripoint (and so has anyone else driving on this section of US 340 (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3210566,-77.7197381,3a,75y,349.89h,79.39t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sG2KL0TJR0AK-Djs-s7ZPNA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!5m1!1e1?hl=en)), but I presume there's no marker based on the surrounding terrain and the way US 340 is squeezed up against the Potomac here. Even if there was a marker, there'd be no good way to access it (aside from kayaking over from nearby Harper's Ferry, perhaps?).
All three of Mississippi's tripoints involve rivers.

California, despite it's being on the coast didn't get shortchanged here. The CA/NV/OR point is in a rather inaccessible area. It looks from the maps that there is a quadpoint in the middle of the Colorado River where Arizona, Baja California Norte, California, and Sonora all come together, but I haven't found a detailed enough map to confirm it. However, there is a settlement (I haven't been there so it might actually be a town or a city) called "Cal-Nev-Ari" at the tripoint of AZ/CA/NV.

That quadripoint does not exist. Baja California borders Arizona.

Correct. The Morelos Dam straddles the AZ/BC border.
I recently visited at Oklahoma-New Mexico-Texas tripoint. It’s a pedestal with a bass disc on top. I have a picture of me sitting on the pedestal. It was also my first trip that far north in the Texas Panhandle.

I am a surveyor professionally. Not saying I wouldn't make that mistake, but it's a little less likely.
I did the VA/KY/TN tri point in January of 2020. That one requires a quite a little hike from the closest parking lot, something like a 600 ft elevation climb over 1.2 miles IIRC, and you pass through the Cumberland Gap at the halfway point. I'm not exactly in the best shape so it took a while getting up there, but then I had to hurry back down pretty quick in a race against sunset.

That particular tripoint is kind of notorious for tripping people up, since the witness marker is located where one would logically think the tripoint should be, going off the surrounding roads.

30 feet. You have to get off I-84 to enter NJ.
PA tripoints, going clockwise:
PA-OH-ON: Located in the middle of Lake Erie. Have fun getting to this one.
PA-NY-ON: Also in Lake Erie.
PA-NJ-NY: Located on the Delaware River, just south of I-84 NY Exit 1. Witness monument accessible on land, but is located in a cemetery off US 6 in Port Jervis. A small boat launch in an RV park on the PA side allows you to canoe to the tripoint.
PA-DE-NJ: Located on the Delaware River, downstream from the Commodore Barry Bridge in Marcus Hook, PA. No boat launch nearby to canoe directly to the tripoint - the area is highly industrial and dominated by oil refineries.
PA-MD-DE: Located in a forest east of PA/DE 896. Easily accessible - a recent trail was built on the Pennsylvania side leading directly to the tripoint. Used to be private property and hard to access.
PA-MD-WV: Located on a road hugging the PA/WV line, east of WV 26/PA 281. Very easy to access and no trespassing required.
PA-WV-OH: Located in the Ohio River, east of East Liverpool, OH. A boat launch off PA 68 (continues as OH 39) allows you to access this tripoint.
MN has two land tripoints: MN/ND/SD, which is in a spot where the MN/Dakotas border doesn't neatly follow the Bois de Sioux River near White Rock, SD. The MN/IA/SD point is about equidistant from the nearest towns in all three states, Larchwood, IA, Valley Springs, SD, and Hills, MN.
MN/IA/WI is in the Mississippi River and MN/MI/WI is in Lake Superior.

The IL/KY/MO tripoint is out on the water at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. The confluence point south of Cairo is about .3 mi from the tripoint according to Google Maps
Maryland has MD/PA/WV, MD/PA/DE, MD/VA/WV and two for MD/VA/DC. You can see the MD/PA/DE tripoint on Route 896 as it nicks the northeast corner of Cecil County (and the state).
