Title: North Carolina Selects ETC system

Looks like they are trying to be interoperable with EZ-Pass and systems to the south. As long as they join the EZPass IAG and accept my tag (and all the transplants that live there that have EZPass), I don't really care. Hopefully this decision will get the IAG to upgrade their tag system, the Mark IV transponders are getting a bit old technology wise and are expensive compared to the stickers now used on most systems.

Spec sheet for the tags NCTA selected: http://www.transcore.com/pdf/412096.pdf

Good call, IMHO.  If NC is trying to be interoperable with EZ Pass, that may force Georgia and Florida to rethink interoperability for their systems.
Personally, I'd like to see all toll systems be interoperable.
