Title: Sign County Route G15
Post by: Max Rockatansky on November 29, 2020, 12:23:43 AM
This morning I posted a brief throwback photo memory of a trip to the western annex of Pinnacles National Park via Sign County Route G15.  After looking through our blog series I realized that I never got around to posting anything for G15.  Sign County Route G15 is mostly noted for Metz Road and the 1923 Southern Pacific Metz Tunnel which can easily be seen from the highway.  Interestingly modern Sign County Route G15 incorporates parts of former of US 101 on 1st Street in King City.  Metz Road probably was the defacto temporary route of Legislative Route 2 following a flood on the Salinas River in 1914 until a new bridge was installed in 1919.

When I first read the thread title, I thought you were telling Caltrans or a county DOT to sign an unsigned route.

I might go with say "County Route G15"  in the future.  "Sign County Route"  or "County Sign Route"  seen obtuse to me too.
