Title: LSU has developed a new "bendable" concrete
Post by: kernals12 on December 24, 2020, 12:33:14 PM
Engineered Cementitious Composites have been around for a few decades, they offer much higher ductility than regular concrete, but due to cost, they have not seen widespread use. But now Louisiana State University has announced a
breakthrough (https://www.lsu.edu/eng/news/2020/12/advancebendableconcrete.php). By using Sugarcane Bagasse Ash instead of fine river sand, they have significantly lowered the cost without compromising its strength.
