After 28 years, Daft Punk are hanging up their helmets

28 years?  And I've never heard of them.  (Does that make me old?  See other thread.)

Probably the first EDM album I ever bought back in 1997 or so.  (Not my normal genre of music then nor now.)

First time I heard of them was around 2000-2001 when they song "One more time".

This is disappointing, but understandable. I really like their songs "harder, better, faster, stronger", "one last time", and their best song ever: "get lucky"

I don't think they'll retire; they'll probably just go of into different directions, collaborate with others, do the solo thing, then probably release another album 5-10 years from now with a lot of fanfare.

Well, they're a bit specific to a genre.

But you shouldn't jump into threads where you don't know about the title just to say "never heard of it/them", if nobody asked an open question; that's what search engines are for. Otherwise, everyone would have 20,000 posts and it would clutter up the forum.
