I'll name my favorite type now, and fill in the rest later. It's Kit-Kat. Chocolate and wafers taste good together for me. If you go to Japan, you can find like hundreds of flavors. List of some of them here (https://www.bokksu.com/collections/japanese-kit-kat).
1. What is your favorite candy? Peanut M&Ms
2. What is your most hated candy? Laffy Taffy and Tootsie Roll if you eat this, just remove your mouth..
3. What is the most overrated candy? Snickers
4. What is the most underrated candy? Spree! Spree is so good, def in my top 3.
1. The small Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
2. Candy Corns
3. The normal size Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
4. Nerds
1. Too many to name.
2. Anything licorice (such as black jelly beans).
3. "Gourmet" chocolates such as Godiva.
4. Smarties.
1. What is your favorite candy? Whoppers, 100 Grand, black licorice
2. What is your most hated candy? candy corn, Necco wafers, Good & Plenty, Conversation Hearts
3. What is the most overrated candy? Hershey's milk chocolate–no contest
4. What is the most underrated candy? Whatchamacallit, Hershey's Gold
1. Sour Patch Watermelons, really tart lollipops, Smarties
2. M&M's (believe it or not), anything peanut butter except for the occasional Reese's, dark chocolate
3. Twizzlers by far. They have no taste or flavor at all
4. Hershey's Cookies N' Creme chocolate bars
I'm stunned we made it this far without someone mentioning Peeps as the most overrated.
1. What is your favorite candy?
Gummi worms. Reeses Pieces. Cadbury eggs. Depends on my mood, really.
2. What is your most hated candy?
I agree with candy corn.
3. What is the most overrated candy?
I'm stunned we made it this far without someone mentioning Peeps here. They're basically just good-looking sugar.
4. What is the most underrated candy?
Mints in general. Also, not exactly a candy, but these things (https://www.australianvitamins.com/product/australian-by-nature-manuka-honey-and-eucalyptus-candies) are delicious.

I had it on my least favorite, then someone else mentioned black licorice and I had to change it. Black licorice is so gross it didn't even compute in my head as candy.

I don't think Peeps are overrated, simply because hardly anyone I know actually
likes them. That is, they aren't rated highly to begin with.
1. Milky Way, anything chocolate and peanut butter.
2. Candy corn, Peeps, black licorice
3. Smarties, Snickers
4. Almond Joy

To me, they're one of those things that people see, and go "oh yeah! remember these!?" and buy a whole bunch, and then go home and open them up only to remember that they or anyone else don't really like them, because they're not that good.

Smarties
Smarties chill me to the bone. I've got the shivers just thinking about them.
The Canadian ones are good, though (https://www.google.com/search?q=canadian+smarties&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS825US825&oq=canadian+smarties&aqs=chrome..69i57.3007j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8).

Almond Joy
Heck yeah. I second this for being underrated.
I don't know what my most favorite candy is, but I know the most hilarious is bubble gum.
'Hilarious' might be just a touch of overstatement.
1. Twizzlers
2. Cow tales
3. Skittles
4. Gummy bears
1. What is your favorite candy? Nut Goodies, can't get them in Texas
2. What is your most hated candy? Anything coconut
3. What is the most overrated candy? Dark chocolate

1. One of my favorites, and it's tough dieting when these are now available seemingly everywhere (grocery stores, convenience stores, airports).
2. Most hated: black licorice is the easy pick, but face it...Conversation Hearts resemble chalk.
My daughter got into the fad of "Bean Boozled (https://www.jellybelly.com/beanboozled-jelly-beans/c/341)", and we'd play a few times. Some of the flavors are intentionally nasty and putrid.
Quote from: interstatefan990 on March 23, 2021, 03:04:46 PMTwizzlers by far. They have no taste or flavor at all
3. Agreed; strawberry Twizzlers have more aftertaste than actual flavor. They're not awful, but I'd rather have Red Vines.
4. So many good choices so far, but I think the most under-rated candy are the cola-bottle gummies (Haribo and others make them). I've rarely seen anyone else eat them, nor have I ever seen them advertised. And yet...they're still there, thankfully.
4a. Dark chocolate Kit-Kats are a recent phenomenon in America, and they're enjoyable. They're not anything gourmet, but even more enjoyable when frozen.

I have now edited my own post to include them, because they REALLY deserve to be on the 'hated' list.

One of my favorite gummies, but haven't had one in years.

2. Cow tales
What?? No!! Cow Tales belong in the 'most underrated' category.
Also... Am I seriously the only one here who loves licorice?
I love Coffee Crisp, also like Skittles and Maynards.
I don't like Tootsie Rolls at all
1. Goetze's Caramel Creams
2. Black licorice
3. Lindt chocolate
4. Tootsie Rolls
1. What is your favorite candy? Either Crunch, 3 Musketeers, or Milky Way
2. What is your most hated candy? Licorice, it tastes and feels about how I'd imagine eating rubber would be like.
3. What is the most overrated candy? Snickers. I wouldn't say it's bad, but I prefer most other chocolate bars to it.
4. What is the most underrated candy? Spree
Yay another Spree lover.
I think Everlasting Gobstoppers would also fit on my underrated list.
1. What is your favorite candy? Milky Way Midnight.
2. What is your most hated candy? Candy corn or black licorice, I hate them both equally.
3. What is the most overrated candy? Regular Snickers. The Peanut Butter Snickers are really good though.
4. What is the most underrated candy? Everlasting Gobstoppers.
Y'all are just haters, man. Black licorice and Snickers bars are awesome.
No, Snickers and candy corn are awesome.
I didn't really like candy corn much, but I found last Halloween that they seem to pair well with something salty (like miniature pretzels).
Overrated: Hershey's Kisses . 3 Musketeers . Tootsie Roll Pops
Underrated: Skor . Mounds . Oh Henry!

I agree. Candy corn gets way more hate than it deserves.
1. Favorite: Canadian Kit-Kat bars. Hershey's changed the formula in the US, and even the European import tastes like the current US formula for Nestle Crunch, which isn't a good thing. Japanese Kit-Kat are in a league of their own and can't be compared. But I haven't been able to have Canadian Kit-Kats for over a year because of the border closure.
2. Worst: Brach's black licorice jelly beans. The ropes by comparison are okay. The strawberry ropes bring back memories of candy and soda at the drive-in.
3. Overrated: U. S. Kit-Kat. Seriously, if people knew what they were missing there might be a revolt. But if Sour Patch are big sellers here, then our taste buds have been blown out.
4. Underrated: Ferrero Eggs, Hazelnut version. In years past, Fred Meyer (Kroger) underbuys this and it sells out weeks before Easter, but until this year, Wallgreens had enough to last the holiday. Not this year, in these uncertain times. Too much of it is bad for me anyway.
I remember having a Kit Kat on a family trip to Canada when I was about 7. Canadian Kit Kats are so much better than U.S. Kit Kats. They're completely different.
Frankly, I don't really notice the difference in US/Canada Kit-Kats, though the Canadian version is a larger volume package. Since 2015, I've almost exclusively had the dark chocolate ones, and I haven't been impressed with the non-chocolate varieties I've had (green tea, apple, raspberry).
1. What is your favorite candy?
3 Musketeers - I like the texture, and they also taste good frozen.
2. What is your most hated candy?
Reese's - I just don't like peanut butter in my candy.
Anything with treenuts (almonds, pecans, etc.) - Dishonorable mention, because I have a treenut allergy.
3. What is the most overrated candy?
Snickers - I just feel like so many people talk about it and it's not really that good. In other words, yes, I think it's overrated.
4. What is the most underrated candy?
Crunchie's - an English honey and chocolate candy that I can't get enough of, and literally haven't gotten in a while because we haven't been able to travel.
I think there's a lot of underrated candies. I said Jolly Ranchers, but many more exist that could also take that title for me:
Gobstoppers
Nerds
Runts
Twizzlers
Mike and Ikes
Hot Tamales
Favorite: Milky Way. Dark chocolate preferred but original is fine.
Most hated: Starburst chews. These are candle wax with sweetness added and formed into little cubes.
Overrated: Agree with Peeps, and agree that not many people actually like them, but they do have a certain cult status. The people who do actually like them are probably the same ones who would drive 100 miles for a McRib sandwich.
Underrated: 100 Grand bar.

For some reason, Starburst chews are much worse than regular Starburst. I have to laugh when people call them "unwrapped" - yeah, I'm sure they wrapped and then unwrapped them just for fun.

Hmmm, I didn't realize there was a "wrapped" or "unwrapped" option. By "chews" I just meant the wax cubes and referred to them that way to differentiate them from other Starburst-branded products, such as the jelly beans which are actually decent.
In my case it's simple: I like chocolate, though I do not care for anything else mixed in with it (nuts, puffed rice, caramel, whatever). Some exceptions exist when chocolate is the secondary rather than the primary component (e.g. chocolate chip cookies).
Beyond that, I loved Smarties and Starburst as a kid. But as an adult, I find the idea of eating pure sugar unappetizing at best.
I vaguely remember a Nestle commercial where a dog says, "Choooooooocolaaaate!" To this day, when chocolate is mentioned, some people still imitate this commercial. This has been going on since the 1970s.
Favorite: Almond Joy
Least favorite: Reese's
Overrated: Candy Crush
Underrated: Square candies that look round (made by Willy Wonka)

Actually, they're a bit addictive - they're a little too sweet, but not jarringly so. We seem to wind up with a bag every Easter, and it goes pretty fast.
While we're at it, the pink Starbursts are a personally acquired taste of sorts; it's not over-sweetened like the red ones, not as artificial as the orange ones, not as cloyingly sour as the yellow ones. The pink strawberry ones are nice on the palette, and they don't seem to leave an aftertaste...a decent "after-meal candy" when I know I can just have one piece to enjoy for a few minutes.
(Weird that I really couldn't stand any of them for the last 20 years or so, and suddenly like just one flavor.)
