Okay never mind, the article says it doesn't spread easily among humans and is "unlikely" to cause an outbreak. The media will capitalize nonetheless.

Of course, the same was said for COVID-19, too.  Let's hope it's accurate this time.

Time to go buy up all those masks that are going on clearance everywhere now.

And stock up on hand sanitizer and toilet paper.

Anything marginally concerning that happens in China will be blown up to epic proportions for the next 5-10 years.

Until there's evidence of human-to-human transmission, there's no reason to worry. Bird flu is found in humans every couple of months, and we haven't had a human-to-human virulent strain yet.

Air border. But only if this is found to be a threat. But not sure if we can tell if China is telling the truth...

They were just at the largest fault for the deaths of over 4 million people . . . they need to be on a short leash.

Just a relevant quote:
QuoteSporadic infections of humans with a limited number of avian virus subtypes (H5, H6, H7, H9, H10) have also been known to occur directly from avian sources, but without as yet leading to sustained human to human transmission [46—52]. Typically, these infections are severe in humans, often causing death, and potential zoonotic epidemics are of ongoing concern.

Samantha J Lycett, Florian Duchatel, Paul Digard
A brief history of bird flu

doi: 10.1098/rstb.2018.0257.

In other words - this is a reason for concern, but not a reason for panic.
