Title: Road maintenance/jurisdiction way beyond the agency's boundary
Post by: Mr. Matté on June 20, 2021, 09:51:05 PM
NY 28A and NY 55A up in the Catskills are both maintained by the New York City DOT (since they run alongside NYC's reservoirs). Are there any other instances of roads that are maintained by an agency very far from what would be the logical limits of said agency?

I'm not looking at examples like NY 17 which is maintained by NYSDOT during its brief dip into Pennsylvania or a similar situation with I-684 in Connecticut.

Makes me wonder about the access roads to the Quabbin in MA.

The part of the Generals Highway in Sequoia National Forest is maintained by the National Park Service.

Maintained by DCR (the statewide agency whose primary mission is state parks and water supplies).
