For some reason I came across the wikipedia page (I didn't know this had a wikipedia page) of a 2017 rock throwing incident on I-75 in Michigan. I remember it well as I travel this stretch of I-75 on a daily basis.
This pretty much sums up what happened. I'm pretty sure the teen that got the lesser sentence had Frank Manley as an Attorney.

This is the overpass the incident happened at. Imagine coming southbound here and having a rock crash through your windshield. Btw, the car in the left lane on the southbound side is a Michigan State Police cruiser.

Another incident a few weeks later in Toledo with a sandbag being dropped onto a car is mentioned as it happened on the same Interstate highway.
For rock throwing off an overpass, there's also an incident on I-80 in PA.
The I-10 Freeway Shooter from Phoenix about a decade ago.
The podcast Swindled has a whole episode on the freeway rock thrower on I-35 in Austin. Turned out to be a local gadfly supposedly trying to stop drunk drivers.

Back in the early 1980s, my mother was driving on I-64 eastbound entering the Charleston city limit when someone threw a huge rock-laced iceball off the cliffs of Fort Hill onto her windshield. She was scrambling to get all the glass off her just before she entered the curve to cross the Kanawha River. Fortunately, the snow on the Interstate had been cleared before she came through. It wasn't cheap to replace the windshield.
Several years ago probably at least 35 years ago now someone dropped a bowling ball from the King Road overpass on I-75 about 17 miles north of the incident I mentioned in Saginaw County.
There were sniper attacks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.C._sniper_attacks) on the DC beltway and I-95 in Baltimore in 2002.
Here's a news story of a whole list of things tossed off overpasses, mainly in NJ.
